1. Re: Difference between Management Console and Management CLI ?
ssilvert Nov 13, 2013 9:05 AM (in response to hari790)You can deploy with Web Console, CLI, or CLI GUI.
The CLI tools give you full access to every resource and every operation in the management model. Web Console provides a subset of that functionality with a simpler user interface. At its core, Web Console is executing the same commands that you might do with CLI. So just use whatever tool is right for the job. They all execute the same thing in the end.

hari790 Nov 14, 2013 12:43 AM (in response to hari790)Hi,
Request to confirm that if we deploy application using CLI then the same application will be available in Console also ?
Console is opening in port 9990(in web broswer) whereas CLI is localhost:9999(in linux terminal).please tell the difference.
Thanks in advance

5. Re: Difference between Management Console and Management CLI ?
dlofthouse Nov 14, 2013 5:44 AM (in response to hari790)Yes if you deploy using one you can update it using the other.
The web console request on port 9990 is a HTTP request to an embedded HTTP server within the application server for the purpose of management, the connection to port 9999 is using a connection that makes use of JBoss Remoting to communicate with the server. Both the service on port 9990 and the service on port 9999 expose the management of the same server, i.e. it is just a different way of connecting.
FYI in future releases even the CLI gets the option to connect over HTTP.
