1. Re: JBoss Tools / Eclipse Windows 8 compatibility
maxandersen Apr 25, 2013 6:36 AM (in response to arakasi69)I've updated the matrix to state more correctly that "Eclipse.org has only tested" instead of "Eclipse only supports".
That comes from Eclipse release trains plans like http://www.eclipse.org/projects/project-plan.php?planurl=http://www.eclipse.org/eclipse/development/plans/eclipse_project_plan_4_2.xml where only the platforms they actually test on is listed.
It does not mean Eclipse cannot run on Windows 8, it just means the Juno release was not tested on Windows 8 (mainly because it did not exist at the time and
no resources allocated to it).
It should just run fine and we got users using JBoss Tools on Windows 8 according to our usage statistics.
Have you seen any problems running eclipse/JBoss Tools on Windows 8 ?

2. Re: JBoss Tools / Eclipse Windows 8 compatibility
arakasi69 Apr 26, 2013 8:05 AM (in response to maxandersen)HI Max,
thanx for the info.
Yes we have seen problems with the combination of eclipse indigo with stable JBoss Tools 3.3 and windows 8.
Starting the jboss seems sometimes very slow. The deployment of our artifacts sometimes fails. In other words it is unstable. But we could not figure out the reason for this.
So i asked, to be sure that this environment should run on windows 8.
Kind regards Thomas

3. Re: JBoss Tools / Eclipse Windows 8 compatibility
maxandersen Apr 26, 2013 8:53 AM (in response to arakasi69)Don't expect a 3 year old Eclipse will run great on Windows 8.
If you see issues on Windows 8 with Eclipse Juno or Kepler with JBoss Tools or Developer Studio installed please open bug reports and we can investigate.

4. Re: JBoss Tools / Eclipse Windows 8 compatibility
psrna Apr 26, 2013 9:35 AM (in response to arakasi69)Hi Thomas,
I haven't seen issues with starting JBT 4.0.1.Final and jboss servers on windows 8.
Could you please try JBT 4.0.1.Final or JBT 4.1.0.Alpha1 and confirm if you still see any issues?
Thanks.
Best regards.
