1. Re: Testing of staged 0.5.0.Final bits
kcbabo Jul 11, 2012 12:26 PM (in response to kcbabo)Here's the offline site assembly:
http://downloads.jboss.org/switchyard/releases/v0.5.Final/switchyard-site-assembly-0.5.0.STAGED.zip
To test the tools, follow these instructions:
https://docs.jboss.org/author/display/SWITCHYARD/Installing+Eclipse+Tooling
For step 2, you would use the above URL instead of the link on the downloads page for the site assembly.

2. Re: Testing of staged 0.5.0.Final bits
kcbabo Jul 11, 2012 12:43 PM (in response to kcbabo)Some options for super bonus points:
- Empty your M2 repo of SY artifacts before testing (e.g. building and deploying a quickstart).
- Create an application from scratch using the tooling and deploy it.
- Use JDK 7 for any/all of the above.

3. Re: Testing of staged 0.5.0.Final bits
bfitzpat Jul 11, 2012 2:54 PM (in response to kcbabo)Installed using the JBDS 5.0.1 CR1a build and the staged switchyard tooling assembly. Works great.

4. Re: Testing of staged 0.5.0.Final bits
kcbabo Jul 11, 2012 3:41 PM (in response to bfitzpat)BTW, to test building an application using the staged 0.5.0.Final artifacts, you will need to add a mirror to your Maven settings.xml (located in $HOME/.m2/) :
<mirrors> <mirror> <id>jboss-staging-repository-group</id> <mirrorOf>jboss-public-repository-group</mirrorOf> <name>JBoss.org Staging Repository Group</name> <url>https://repository.jboss.org/nexus/content/groups/staging/</url> </mirror> </mirrors>

5. Re: Testing of staged 0.5.0.Final bits
kcbabo Jul 11, 2012 5:33 PM (in response to kcbabo)Tested with JDK 6 on OSX:
- Unzipped and started AS7 with SY - SUCCESS
- Built all quickstarts with no SY artifacts in M2 repo - SUCCESS
- Deployed bean-service and bpm-service to SY AS7 and tested with SoapUI - SUCCESS
More to come ...

6. Re: Testing of staged 0.5.0.Final bits
igarashitm Jul 11, 2012 7:18 PM (in response to kcbabo)Tested on Fedora 17 x86_64 with:
java version "1.7.0_03-icedtea"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (fedora-2.2.1.fc17.8-x86_64)
- Unzipped and started AS7 with SY - SUCCESS
- Built all quickstarts with no SY artifacts in M2 repo - SUCCESS
- Deployed following quickstarts to SY AS7 and tested according to README.md
bean-service
bpel-service/say_hello
bpel-service/loan_approval
bpel-service/jms_binding
bpel-service/simple_correlation
bpm-service
camel-ftp-binding
camel-jms-binding
camel-netty-binding
camel-quartz-binding
camel-rest-binding
demos/helpdesk-webapp - got an error - http://pastebin.com/vtnhaeBw
demos/orders - succeeded, but old port 18001 in README.md should be 8080
demos/policy-security
demos/policy-transaction
hornetq-binding
jca-inflow-hornetq
jca-outbound-hornetq
transform-jaxb
transform-xslt
Almost all of them works with JDK7 I have seen a few build error in core repo though.

7. Re: Testing of staged 0.5.0.Final bits
rcernich Jul 11, 2012 7:47 PM (in response to igarashitm)OS=RHEL 6.1
JDK=Sun Java6
Tools=Minimal SwitchYard install (as documented under Development Builds here: https://docs.jboss.org/author/display/SWITCHYARD/Installing+Eclipse+Tooling)
Components=Bean, SOAP
Built an application from the ground up using the Eclipse tooling:
- Create a new project
- Create a "bean" component
- Flesh out service interface
- Implement service methods in bean
- Create service test
- Implement service test
- Run service test (Run As => JUnit Test)
- Generate WSDL
- Promote service
- Add SOAP binding
- Code transformers
- Deploy (from tooling)
- Test using Eclipse Web Services Tester
The process is documented here https://docs.jboss.org/author/display/SWITCHYARD/Quick+Start (still need to add screen shots).
Problems:
- Need to point to the JBT 3.3 stable update site or install becomes unstable (updated doc)
- From/to for scanned transformers are reversed in properties view (i.e. the from column actually shows the to type and vice versa)
Other than that, everything worked well.

kcbabo Jul 11, 2012 8:40 PM (in response to rcernich)Thanks very much, Tomo and Rob.
@Rob - that transformer bug could cause tons of headaches. I imagine the fix is pretty easy. Do you agree we should fix this for 0.5.0.Final?

9. Re: Testing of staged 0.5.0.Final bits
kcbabo Jul 11, 2012 9:05 PM (in response to kcbabo)I tested the Forge installer just now and it works. Correct download URL and correct module versions in the ~/.forge/plugins directory.

10. Re: Testing of staged 0.5.0.Final bits
kcbabo Jul 11, 2012 9:20 PM (in response to kcbabo)Also just tested the installer for installing in an existing 7.1.1 instance (actually downloaded by the installer). A-OK there as well.

dward Jul 12, 2012 9:08 AM (in response to igarashitm)Tomo,
I just ran through the helpdesk-webapp, going down various paths, with no issues. Of course, our environments are a bit different: I'm on Mac OSX 10.7.4 using Apple JDK 1.6.0_33. Still, I'm curious what step(s) you were doing in the web application to cause the stack trace. Do you remember? Can you recreate and let me know?
Thanks,
David

dward Jul 12, 2012 9:08 AM (in response to dward)Just tested again using Oracle JDK 1.7.0_05. Still no issues with helpdesk-webapp. Gonna try Fedora 17 next...

dward Jul 12, 2012 9:50 AM (in response to dward)Just tested the helpdesk-webapp again, this time on Fedora 17 (Linux 3.4.4-5.f17.x86_64) and OpenJDK 1.7.0_03-icedtea. No issues. At this point, I would really need to know the steps you did to recreate this. Thanks!
