1. Re: Doubts while configuring JMS in JBOSS 7.1.1 Final.
jaikiran May 9, 2012 3:54 AM (in response to sabarinathsss)Welcome to the forum
AS7 doesn't use JBoss Messaging project but uses HornetQ http://www.jboss.org/hornetq as the messaging implementation. HornetQ does not use a database but instead uses its own native file based journals for persisting messages and other relevant data. So you don't have to set the datasource name in AS7.

sabarinathsss May 9, 2012 6:29 AM (in response to jaikiran)Thank You
Whether AS7 allows us to set the datasource name if we need? if yes, where we to specify the data source name?
how the native files used by HornetQ are maintained in JBOSS 7.1.1 Final?
Thanks
Advance

Depends on where you are using the datasource.

It stores it in a binary format under JBOSS_HOME/standalone/data (for standalone server).

shankarvignesh May 9, 2012 7:13 AM (in response to jaikiran)Hi,
Normally we configure datasource name in standalnone.xml or domain.xml ( in datasource subsystem).
I'm using standalone.xml .
Do we need to specify datasource name seperately for jms messages(in HornetQ server) ?
If yes , i want to know how to configure it.
In Jboss 4 the messages are stored in jms_messages and jms_transaction tables specified in mysql-jdbc2-service.xml .

jbertram May 9, 2012 9:45 AM (in response to shankarvignesh)As Jaikiran stated previously, HornetQ doesn't store messages in a database. Therefore, there is no need to specify the name of a datasource for it.
If you need general information regarding how to configure a JDBC datasource see the documentation.
