1. org.apache.commons.codec.binary.Base64 classnotfound inspite of commons-codec jar being there
devinderpal May 9, 2011 12:11 PM (in response to vishals)I guess this exception is thrown at EJB level but you might have the jar in WEB-INF/lib.
That wouldn't work. you should throw that jar in common/lib so that it's picked by EJBs

2. org.apache.commons.codec.binary.Base64 classnotfound inspite of commons-codec jar being there
vishals May 9, 2011 1:07 PM (in response to devinderpal)Hi Devinder,
Thanks for your response. It's a mistake in my deployment. I did not include common-codec.jar as a module in application.xml.
Feel silly about it now
Cheers,
Vishal

shivkr5558 Dec 21, 2012 2:33 AM (in response to vishals)i m recently deploying my projects in jboss7 i m also getting same error.
In jboss7 eveything should be added in ear module, so if we want to add external jar just create one lib folder in ear projects and in application.xml add
<module>
<java>commons-codec-1.5.jar</java>
</module>
