1. Re: Google App Engine support status in v4?
nbelaevski Feb 19, 2010 5:47 AM (in response to sunfire)Hi Thorsten,
We will provide a workaround for the problem, currently we plan to pre-render all bundled images, so that ImageIO won't be necessary for them.

3. Re: Google App Engine support status in v4?
jbalunas Feb 22, 2010 2:50 PM (in response to sunfire)You bring up a good point though - this is in our plans, but has not been discussed enough.
Google app engine work will be part of the QE process for later releases, and I hope to have a "how-to" at some point before the final 4.0 release.

10. Re: Google App Engine support status in v4?
niknik77771 Aug 9, 2010 3:28 PM (in response to ilya_shaikovsky)Amazing news!
I have some notes for example application:
1. Links "Download" and ""Sources" are broken.
The requested URL /richfaces/milestones/4.0.X/4.0.0.ALPHA2/richfaces-4.0.0.ALPHA2.zip was not found on this server.
2. It looks like example Ajax Action/a4j:push does not work properly.
Please, post what kind of resources will announce demos and source code of examples.
Thank you very much for this news

ilya_shaikovsky Aug 10, 2010 10:45 AM (in response to niknik77771)1. Links "Download" and ""Sources" are broken.
The requested URL /richfaces/milestones/4.0.X/4.0.0.ALPHA2/richfaces-4.0.0.ALPHA2.zip was not found on this server.
just the problem with links. will be fixed during M2 release.
2. It looks like example Ajax Action/a4j:push does not work properly.
moreover mediaoutput not works also. Caused by the fact of GAE limitations - threads and java2d not allowes. So just need to rewrite demos using the ways GAE provides.
Please, post what kind of resources will announce demos and source code of examples.
as far as we will be ready you will see updates everywhere - in twitter, space and site announces, blogs and so on. It really nearest time action - probably right before M2..

13. Re: Google App Engine support status in v4?
ilya_shaikovsky Aug 12, 2010 10:25 AM (in response to niknik77771)It's open source and the developers has full freedom to choise appropriate framework at the moment them need. Just want to remind that we not just migrate components to JSF 2.0 (which actually would be not so long task for sure) but also making much other framework updates - http://in.relation.to/14509.lace

14. Re: Google App Engine support status in v4?
niknik77771 Aug 12, 2010 2:20 PM (in response to ilya_shaikovsky)I don't want to say anything bed about RichFaces vs other Faces. As far as I understood RichFaces is deeper coupled with JSF and not just a wrapper around JQuery or other JavaScript library. So, authors need more time to release. All wishes are just for good JSF component library for GAE.Waiting for RichFaces working examples source code. Thanks in advance.
