1. Re: Problem saving processes after upgrading the web Designer to designer-2.0
tsurdilovic Dec 7, 2011 1:48 PM (in response to vsarmien)Hi Victor, hehe you found the 2.0 designer before we were able to announce it yet .. that to come soon
There should be errors in your server logs that indicate a possible reason (also check JS errors), but the most likely reason is that you would need to also upgrade your Guvnor version to 5.3.1 to get it working because I would venture to guess that there was an issue with saving your process bpmn2 into Guvnor. You could test that by using the Guvnor rest api and check the source of your process with like
localhost:8080/drools-guvnor/rest/packages/<yourpackage>/assets/<yourassetname>/source.
Hope this helps.

tsurdilovic Dec 7, 2011 1:51 PM (in response to vsarmien)Just to add, with jBPM 5.2 just around the corner, probably the best thing would be to wait for that to upgrade to Designer 2.0 as the installer will include the correct depenency versions of apps (and uses Designer 2.0 by default).

3. Re: Problem saving processes after upgrading the web Designer to designer-2.0
vsarmien Dec 7, 2011 2:02 PM (in response to tsurdilovic)Hi Tihomir,
Thank you very much for your response. We actually found out that the problem is caused by an unnamed lane. We created a lane but we didn't assign any name. We then added the start, task and end nodes and the process was not saving. Once we assigned a name to the lane, the process saved successfully.
I am very glad to know jBPM 5.2 will be released soon and I take the opportunity to ask, will it be possible to run Guvnor and Designer on an IP different from localhost and a port different from 8080? Currently JBoss can be configured to respond on IP/Port other than localhost and 8080 but Designer does not save the process model. I understand the localhost and port 8080 are hardcoded in some classes. Will this be configurable in jBPM 5.2?
Thanks a lot again.

This was already possible in Designer versions prior to 2.0 - see here for now: https://hudson.jboss.org/hudson/job/jBPM/lastSuccessfulBuild/artifact/jbpm-distribution/target/jbpm-5.2.0-SNAPSHOT-docs-build/jbpm-docs/html/ch10.html (specifically chapter 10.5). The Guvnor configuration part however iirc is available in Guvnor 5.3.1 + so if you are using prior versions it may not be possible.
Hope this helps.
