1. Re: Big problem: why is JBoss Tools 3.3M3 not redeploying my application?
maxandersen Sep 22, 2011 3:20 PM (in response to marcos_aps)it only redeploys if there are actually changes.
You can right click on the server and ask for full publish/clean to force it or simply do a restart to trigger a simple redeploy.

I make actual changes and it doesn't work when I use Run on Server. The changes are not published, the EAR archive is not generated again. I tried 'Clean...', as suggested by you, and it worked. But I think that I shoudn't need to use clean to make this work. Just using Run on Server would suffice for the changes to be redeployed. I still think there's something wrong.

4. Re: Big problem: why is JBoss Tools 3.3M3 not redeploying my application?
marcos_aps Sep 22, 2011 4:25 PM (in response to maxandersen)Very simple:
1. I make some changes in the source code of a managed bean in the WEB project.
2. I right click in the EAR project and choose Run As | Run on Server.
The Servers view says that the application server is synchronized, but it is not. Also, there's no messages in the Console view showing the redeployment. If I use clean, the Console view shows the redeployment.

maxandersen Sep 22, 2011 4:30 PM (in response to marcos_aps)funny enough this was asked similar in this thread: http://community.jboss.org/thread/172670?tstart=0
Please see over there (and we might wait for answer until Rob comes back, but afaik this is how other server adapters behaves too in this case..which is why we got full publish/clean as operations on the server)

bbrodt Sep 23, 2011 9:43 AM (in response to maxandersen)Is it possible you don't have "Build Automatically" enabled in eclipse?

No. "Build Automatically" is enabled.

8. Re: Big problem: why is JBoss Tools 3.3M3 not redeploying my application?
not_the_mama Sep 29, 2011 4:49 PM (in response to marcos_aps)I have the same problem. I am just evaluating JBoss 7.02 and I just created a super simple program with one normal pojo containing a reference to a stateless EJB using CDI. It works ok but when I change one of the files it looks like it is publishing but nothing happens. When I use "Clear" on the server instance it works ok again. Restarting works too.
Publishing settings on server: "Automatically publish when resources change".
My stuff: JBoss 7.02, Eclipse 3.7 indigo with latests JBoss Tools from update site http://download.jboss.org/jbosstools/updates/development/indigo/

9. Re: Big problem: why is JBoss Tools 3.3M3 not redeploying my application?
rob.stryker Oct 3, 2011 3:34 AM (in response to not_the_mama)As Max said, we currently do not restart applications on .class file changes. The user must initiate this action themselves.

That's not my case. The setting "Automatically publish when resources change" is disabled in my case, and, as I said, after I make changes, when I use "Run on Server", the changes are not deployed. I have to use "Clean..." if I want the changes to be published. Now, I must say, that using "Clean..." is a very non intuitive way to deploy the application. In this case, what is the "Run As | Run on Server" menu option designed for?

I've opened this JIRA once I was able to reproduce it. Should have a patch shortly. =D
