1. Re: JBOSS 6 not recognized server in Netbeans
peterj Jan 5, 2011 11:44 AM (in response to sstisser)Scott, welcome to the JBoss forums!
You will have to wait for a NetBeans update that supports JBoss AS 6. The issue is that NetBeans, like Eclipse, searches for key files (usually JAR files) in the JBoss AS directory structure to ensure that you gave it a valid location for JBoss AS. Meanwhile, the JBoss team likes to play musical chairs with the JAR files (and other files), either renaming of moving them, or both.
With Eclipse, the locations of the key files are kept in an XML configuration file. So you can easily edit the file to make Eclipse look for the new files/locations. With NetBeans, the locations are hard-coded (at least they were the last time I looked). I guess you could always get the NetBeans source, modify it to look fof the updated files, and recompile it.

sstisser Jan 5, 2011 12:12 PM (in response to peterj)Thank you for taking time to answer my question. I have been pulling my hair out... I think I'll use glassfish to do the netbeans tutorial
as netbeans instructed, then develop in jboss later when netbeans supports... or use a different IDE, or non at all.

4. JBOSS 6 not recognized server in Netbeans
baradon Jan 18, 2011 1:14 PM (in response to eugene-71)Hi Eugene,
up to now, I'm not completely convinced, that Netbeans supports JBoss 6. I can not select a server configuration. The drop down menu does not contain even a single item.
What am I supposed to do (beside writing all the ant files from scratch)?
br,
Heiner
