3. Re: Shortcut to switch between files in JBoss HTML Editor
dgolovin Jan 12, 2010 9:20 PM (in response to wagner.montalvao)I can replicate this and it looks like Ctrl+PageUp/PageDown are default hot keys to switch between Tabs in OS. Thus I cannot find workaround for it. Eclipse has no registered command for switching between tabs, but there are commands for switching between Sub-Tabs: Alt+PageUp/PageDown (all commands can be found in Preferences Dialog under General->Keys Category). These Alt+ commands should be used in JBoss Html/JSP editor to switch between editor sub-tabs.
I've opened issue for Visual Editor to track this problem https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBIDE-5666
Eclipse has Ctrl+F6/Ctrl+Shift+F6 keys to switch between opened edditors.

4. Re: Shortcut to switch between files in JBoss HTML Editor
wagner.montalvao Jan 13, 2010 5:31 PM (in response to dgolovin)Hey Denis,
It doesn't work in jbdevstudio. Only ctrl+page up/down works (that's why I confused), but it only switches correctly between files when I'm editing any kind of file without subtabs. So it works well while editing a java file for example. But if I edit an xhtml file and then I have the subtabs, it switches between the subtabs only.
I use ctrl+E instead of ctrl+F6. Give it a try, maybe you will prefeer. It provides a quick search and you can also walk using the arrows. Although IMO nothing substitutes the old and dear page up/down.
By the way thank you very much for your attention.
Cheers

maxandersen Jan 13, 2010 5:36 PM (in response to wagner.montalvao)Yeah, seems like our multipage editor hadn't caught up with some changes in Eclipse 3.5 that allowed for having a consistent behavior.
Because of your feedback that is now fixed - you can see the details in the jira.
Thanks!

dmaliarevich Jan 14, 2010 9:41 AM (in response to wagner.montalvao)We've corrected our editor's behaviour. Now you can use Ctrl+PageUp/PageDown to switch between outter tabs (opened in eclipse files) and Alt+PageUp/PageDown - to switch between inner JBossToolsEditor's tabs.
Thank you for your notice once again)

wagner.montalvao Jan 14, 2010 10:14 AM (in response to wagner.montalvao)Thank you guys for both replies bringing the good notice about this bug fix.
As I do not have a licence and I am running the free beta version, is it possible to do a update to fix this issue?
Thanks

11. Re: Shortcut to switch between files in JBoss HTML Editor
matija Mar 8, 2011 7:45 AM (in response to dmaliarevich)Hi All,
I was wondering whether there was any progress oin this matter? I see that the change had been reverted almost immediately, which is sad :/
I always have a few .java and .xhtml files open at the same time, and I find it most annoying not to be able to use the standard Ctrl+PgUp/PgDn that I am so used to to quickly switch between them without falling into the xhtml-trap. I do know that there are alternatives, but I found none of them to be good enough.
Cheers,
Matija
