30. Re: RichFaces in the short-term future. What is your vision?
romaintaz Sep 19, 2007 4:36 AM (in response to sergeysmirnov)I really enjoy the wiki page, thanks!
I found the data table of the Quipu framework (shown in demetrio812 post, page 2) really great.
The current RichFaces Datatable really needs a selection feature (with radio or checkbox), with ability of highlighting selected row(s).
On my project, I had to develop a component that extends the RichFaces datatable in order to add this kind of functionality. However, this will be really great if the original datatable offers this feature!
The filtering feature is also an interesting feature (see here : http://www.teamdev.com/quipukit/demo/datatable/DataTable_filteringAndPaging.jsf). -

mjdenham Sep 21, 2007 8:36 AM (in response to sergeysmirnov)I would like skinnable verisons of the standard JSF components.
I use the InputNumberSpinner alongside standard JSF components and unless I remove the fancy skin it looks quite odd. -

thanks for the gorgeous framework!
my wishlist:
(1) ajax upload component (possibly with progress bar)
(2) ajax upload component (without progress bar)
(3) ajax upload component
It's not allowed to upload files with XHR due to security reasons.
I heard about this before in this forum. If you ever use Yahoo Mail beta, you will notice that we can upload a file while editing mails. Whatever you call it, ajax upload or something upload, it will be nice to have that feature. -

mtaal Sep 21, 2007 10:29 AM (in response to sergeysmirnov)Hi,
I don't know how to edit the wiki to add my +1's there.
So I hope this also works.
I would really like a 'woodstock-like' datatable in richfaces, but this is mostly summarized by the first two points:
* sortable column datatable: +1
* filtering on datatable: +1
* xhtml editor: +1
* suggested object, suggest box: +1
and ofcourse a +1 for all the other topics on the list also :-), but the above are what I think the most important ones.

dxxvi Sep 21, 2007 1:33 PM (in response to sergeysmirnov)How about a horizontal / vertical split panels (like the one in gwt)? Those panels have left (upper) and right (lower) parts. We can drag the divider to wherever we want.

bruno.arruda Sep 21, 2007 1:42 PM (in response to sergeysmirnov)about new components
a inplace editor binded to a mb ajaxed would be nice.
something like that:

This include into the term: "layout components" in the main table. -

When I spoke about inplaceEditor I meant the switcher between a text mode and a editable mode when the editable primitives such as text field, text area, any kind of combo box are used.
Switching to the tinyMCE is an extreme case.
BTW, tinyMCE is kept in mind when we speak about the xDHTML editor. -

I understand Sergey,maybe a 2.0 version? I don´t know certainlly about that, but I believe that when there is already a xDHTML editor and a "basic" inplace editor, wouldn´t take too much work to get the things together, do you agree?
tkz, keep the nice work.

ratondeau Sep 27, 2007 11:01 AM (in response to sergeysmirnov)a context menu,
a pick list and the fileupload
split pane vertical/horizontal are also very useful and the
inplace editor would be the cherry on top :-)

gavin.king Sep 30, 2007 11:10 AM (in response to sergeysmirnov)I would really like to get a "dashboard" component that lets me arrange and show/hide blocks of content, like in a portal. ie:
<rich:dashBoard> <rich:dashBoardPanel>...</rich:dashBoardPanel> <rich:dashBoardPanel>...</rich:dashBoardPanel> ... </rich:dashBoard>
