1. Re: how to make some editors optional
mars1412 Mar 27, 2008 9:59 AM (in response to mars1412)just found a solution for the .properties files
in Window-Preferences:
General-Editors-File Associations
set the 'Properties File Editor' as default for .properties files
this editor is much faster than the 'JBoss Tolls Properties Editor', which is aready very slow if you have about 300 lines in it! -

maxandersen Mar 28, 2008 3:02 AM (in response to mars1412)mars - please report such issues about bad performance...300 lines should *not* slow down our editor.

unfortunately I can't really reproduce the problem.
It seems to happen when I have the properties file open for some time (not using it) - then I add a line and save it: in this case eclipse is stuck for 1-2 seconds.
This has never happend with the plain properties editor (so far).
Should I file a jira anyway? -

maxandersen Mar 28, 2008 8:49 AM (in response to mars1412)hmm....please do report it so we can remember to investigate - if we can't we'll just have to resovle it as unreproducible.
