How can I contact administrators of jboss.org?

If you didn't find relevant information on the help pages or in this FAQ then you can contact us via our contact form or by email.

 

Why is there no Drools (previously known as JBoss Rules) forum?

 

The Drools project have chosen to use mailing lists rather than forums so please contact them there.

 

It still says Login in the header at http://www.jboss.org even though I've logged in?

 

The www.jboss.org domain is served by Magnolia whereas the community.jboss.org domain is served by SBS. Clicking on the Login link in the header takes you to https://community.jboss.org/login.jspa where you log into SBS but we currently don't detect this has happened from Magnolia which is why the Login link is still visible from the www.jboss.org pages.

User accounts

I lost my password and don't have access to email anymore. How can I reset my password?

In this case contact us via the contact form. We'll reset your password manually.

How do I stop receiving 'Community Updates' emails?

 

Login and then go to this page: http://community.jboss.org/user-notification-preferences!input.jspa.

 

You can navigate to this page by clicking on Your Stuff -> Profile in the menu and then Edit Preferences in Action box. Then click on the Email Notification Preferences tab.

 

At the bottom of page change the Send me an email summary field to Never and hit Save.

 

What is The Master Account?

The Master Account is that account which you use to access community.jboss.org.

What is duplicate account?

In the past you were able to register different accounts with same e-mail and use them in other jboss.org systems (jira, subversion, ...).

If it's your situation you need to set one of these account to be The Master Account and then others accounts will be duplicates.

How to set The Master Account?

Simply login to jboss.org. If our system find any similar account with same e-mail it will help you to set Master Account via simple wizard.

How can I update duplicate accounts details?

Via Master Account. Simply login to jboss.org and update The Master Account. When you do that each duplicate account is also updated with new informations. How to update account is described here.

I have different accounts with same e-mail. Can I use these accounts?

The best idea is to use only one account across all jboss.org systems. If it's possible then do it - use only your Master account.

If you're in situation when you created different accounts and you use each account for different system then you can continue in that.

But remember that now you manage details of these accounts via one account - The Master account.

I have different accounts with different username and e-mail. Can I merge them?

At the moment it's not possible. Merging accounts across all our sytems (JIRA, Fisheye, Forums, SVN etc.) is not trivial operation but it's in our road-map and we'll provide this feature in future.

Unable to login issues.jboss.org

This JIRA instance uses username and password from common jboss.org user profile. When you are unable to login jira (even if you are able to login other systems), change your password following instructions in help and try again.

In case of forgotten password, follow instructions in help.

In case of email like username (contains @), contact us to rename your user account or give you your new username (we are in process to rename these usernames to prevent distinct problems related to them).

How to edit user profile details in issues.jboss.org?

This JIRA instance user profile details (email and full name) are replicated from common jboss.org user profile. Replication is performed during user's login into jira. To change these informations follow instructions in help and then logout and login jira again.

My name has broken diacritics in issues.jboss.org

Diacritics is sometimes broken in common jboss.org user profile data due historical reasons. To repair it, follow instructions in help to edit profile. Even if diacritics seems OK here, use 'Edit profile' page and 'Save' button to repair diacritics. Then logout and login jira again.

Unable to login docs.jboss.org/author

This Confluence instance uses username and password from common jboss.org user profile. When you are unable to login confluence (even if you are able to login other systems), change your password following instructions in help and try again.
