WARN [localhost-startStop-2] (Validator.java:443) - WELD-001440: Scope type @javax.enterprise.context.ApplicationScoped() used on injection point

I've looked through the source code and the docs and it's unclear what the WARN message:

WARN [localhost-startStop-2] (Validator.java:443) - WELD-001440: Scope type @javax.enterprise.context.ApplicationScoped() used on injection point [BackedAnnotatedField] @Inject @ApplicationScoped private blinkadapter.nswwc.endpoint.EventsProcessorServlet.config

Is telling me. Can somebody point me to where I could gain a better understanding of what the Validator is checking?

Hi,
I think the message is very clear. It's telling you that you are using @ApplicationScoped annotation on one of your injection points (probably field). ApplicationScoped annotation is bean defining annotation (Contexts and Dependency Injection for the Java EE platform) and doesn't make much sense to place it on your injection point. You can check Weld documentation at Weld 2.3.0.Final - CDI Reference Implementation or CDI spec itself on Contexts and Dependency Injection for the Java EE platform
