Hello Ramesh,
As I continue to explore the TEIID Technologies.
Can I modify data in source table through VDB? or any other way in TEIID?.
I 'm still exploring the TEIID, however if I'm only looking for aggregating for databases (not the text file or excel), VDB is just an Database Views ( as in Oracle or any other relational database), but VDB can be created acros multiple databases(multiple data sources).. Am i correct?
Regards
As I last time checked, yes you understanding is correct .
Yes, you can aggregate/integrate data across multiple databases and/or multiple disparate sources. In Teiid, views can be updatable. Meaning, you can insert, update and delete the data from it along with read. If the view is made up from different databases, Teiid uses distributed transactions any updates.
Ramesh..
Hey Ramesh,
As per our project, we are required to migrate from Oracle to SQL (rather support both databases instead of one).
I am required to implement the Oracle VPD (row level and column level securities defined in policy file) at middle layer.
I have installed JBoss AS 7.1 and TEIID designer 8.3.
I have created VDB from SQL Server. For now I want to implement RLS.
I read few of your discussions and understood that I can use virtual procedure and data roles and security function hasRole() to implement RLS.
But struggling to implement. Can you please help me with some examples
Thanks,
Neeta
