Hibernate Console and OpenShift

We are considering to move to OpenShift. So far the Hibernate Console can be used to test JPA queries against a local database. Can we also use Hibernate Console to query agains a "Cloud database"?

Yes, you just need to setup a DTP or jdbc properties connection to your "Cloud database".

For that to connect you need to enable Port forwarding of your openshift application so you can connect to it remotely.
