Can process variable have a default value in BPMN?

Hi,

Just wondering if we can set a default value to a process variable inside BPMN xml? So I only need to override the value when it is different than the default.

when the process started , you can put value of the variable into the processinstance.

Thanks to the replies, I know you can pass in the value at start process time, that is what we are doing, the reason I am asking is that if we could set a default value to a process variable in BPMN, in our program, we don't have to set the default value when start the process instance.
