JBoss 5.1.0.GA - Adding Log4j-service takes more than 1 minute

Matthias Bieker Newbie

Hello,

i have a question about JBoss 5.1.0.GA. Adding the log4j-services takes more than 1 minute:

2012-07-26 15:11:58,684 main INFO  [org.jboss.dependency.plugins.AttributeCallbackItem] --: Owner callback not implemented.

2012-07-26 15:12:01,122 main INFO  [org.jboss.logbridge.LogNotificationListener] --: Adding notification listener for logging

mbean "jboss.system:service=Logging,type=Log4jService" to server org.jboss.mx.server.MBeanServerImpl@fd0a62[ defaultDomain='jb

oss' ]

2012-07-26 15:13:21,566 main INFO  [org.jboss.deployment.dependency.ContainerDependencyMetaData] --: addJndiDependency, JndiDe

pendencyMetaData@12264c4{ejb/de.kwsoft.mtext.MTextActivationServerTalk}

I'm using JBoss 5.1.0.GA on Sun Solaris 8. The start of JBoss server takes over 4 minutes.

How can I speed up this process ?

Regards.

    Unless you have reconfigured logging to use appenders other than the console and file appenders, I rather doubt that it if logging that is causing the slowdown. You should look in the server log, logging takes place at the debug level there, it might give you a bigger clue as to where theissue might be. Also, in general it is not a good idea to assume that because there is a significant pause between log entry A and log entry B, that the task identified by log entry A used up all that time! Task A could have taken 10ms, and then some other task that doesn't log anything might have taken up the intervening time.
