the first part of the adress after the servername and port is the project name.
So if your servlet is in a java project named MyProject the adress is:
localhost:8080/myproject/servlet
You can have a webproject without a web.xml. You can annotate your servlet with @WebServlet("/servlet").

jboss-as-7.1.1.Final\standalone\deployments
and wait a second.
