    Welcome socialites!

While watching a long discussion go by on the core JBoss developer list about social strategy, I recognized that many JBoss Community projects are trying to determine how and if social integration fits with their software, and if so, to what end. At around the same time, a discussion kicked off about creating a Java Social JSR to standardize the APIs for interacting with social services in an extensible way.

What we have on our hands is a cross-cutting topic of interest. That calls for a Special Interest Group (SIG) for social integration. In this group, projects can share with each other how they approached social integration, what technologies they used and what value it brought to the project. Putting our heads together, we can also provide insight for the emerging Java Social JSR.

On that note, let's get to the discussions!
