Hold on Clebert! :-)
There is no concept of "username" in Git! The git uses for commits same format as email does:
Your Real Name <email@example.com>
So its real name and email address that we need in that document. Only then when the repo is at github it will associate that email address with that github username. You can add multiple email addresses for each user account/name.
What will happen with the ones we can't find?
Yeah, this is unfortunate. We can still proceed but these commits will say that user name and wont be associated with their github names since we dont know the email address. All we need is an email adress.
Also note that this cannot be changed after the migration (can be cahnged with --force push but that is a huge no no!) because all the forks that people will have would become messed up.
We need to at least get the most active contributors, and we can find these guys easily:
Formely active (with major contributions)
Ovidiu Feodorov (with contributions at time ot Jboss Messaging with some of his @author tags still on the code)
I believe there are some contribution from Adrian Brock as well on the Filters
I updated myself on the list, however before I did it said
gurkapa = Kanika Gupta <firstname.lastname@example.org>
If Kanika Gupta should be on that list, it would seem that someone has mapped that name and address incorrectly.
