Tomcat 7.0.23 and Seam 3.1.0.Final

Hi everybody,

I´m used to work with jboss seam 2x and tomcat 6 and i´m very happy.
I read the changes of jboss seam 3 and cdi, in tutorial and I have followed since the beginning.
But now, in new project,, i´m confused, with some doubts, see in list:
Is possible use jboss seam 3.1.0.Final without weld, only with solder on tomcat 7.0.23 for example? or all weld jar´s is need?
Anybody got a archetype for this ? ( with a latest versions of seam like 3.1.0.Final ?)

I know has the jboss as7 more recomended, but tomcat is pre-requisite, only the version of tomcat is flexible.
I´m try to configure a ambient in eclipse Indigo (trivial work in seam 2x) and i can´t..
In my example configuration is used solder, but any request throws a null pointer in org.jboss.seam.transaction.TransactionServletListener line 106 (this.tx).

Weld is the CDI implementation, you have to have a CDI implementation. If you're stuck on Tomcat, take a look at TomEE.

did you find a solution for the null pointer exception in the TransactionServletListener?
I recently upgraded from Seam 3.1.0.beta3 to 3.1.0.final and experience the same problem.

Thanks Jason for the hint on TomEE. It looks very promising. However for smaller projects I'd prefer not to use all these additional EE-Jars.

If there's an NPE there, it probably has to do with not having JTA setup correctly in tomcat.
