Custom error page when application is down

Hello,

I want to have a friendlier custom (404) error page. Where in the application should I keep this page. How would JBoss know it's location. Which file to configure in order to make Jboss know to view it when the page is not found.

Sometimes we have to restart our server. If the user are accessing at the moment we want to show them a page that would say something like Maintenance in progress

If the JBoss is down and you use it directly there is no chance because there is no listener process.
As I know a common solution is a apache in front to host the static context and loadbalance the requests.
Here it is possible to switch the static start page to a mantenance page during the JBoss mantenance.

We have Apache server at the front. Where in the server do we need to put this error page and what configuration file do I need to make changes.
