sjwoodman Dec 10, 2002 6:39 AM (in response to toastchum)Great page, certainly a lot easier to follow than the getting started docs!
Cheers,

mattasplin Dec 11, 2002 1:24 PM (in response to toastchum)That looks like a great start to alternative documentation for JBoss. One thing that could be added (for my benefit) is a little background info on ant. I kind of hit a dead end there since I've never worked with ant before. Is there anything that needs to be configured to have ant working with JBoss?

luke_t Dec 16, 2002 5:10 PM (in response to toastchum)I've also been (slowly) working on a "really simple getting started guide", the draft of which you can read here:
http://www.monkeymachine.ltd.uk/JBossStart/JBossStart.html
At the moment it isn't much more than a description of the JBoss 3 server contents but you may find it useful. I hope to expand it and add some *really basic* getting started examples too...
Any constructive feedback is welcome.

Your tutorial was very nicely mapped out. I think it ends sort of abruptly, but thats understandable since your obviously not finished. -

mlapenna Jan 20, 2003 10:11 PM (in response to toastchum)Excellent guide.
However, now you must note that xdoclet1.1.2 must be downloaded and not the newer xdoclet1.2b2 which actually fails if you use it. -

alvin Feb 14, 2003 12:26 AM (in response to toastchum)must stress that only xdoclet1.1.2 works with the templates file. xdoclet 1.2.0 doesn't. anyone knows why?

13. Re: Read the really simple getting started guide here.
docjava_seattle Mar 12, 2003 4:53 PM (in response to toastchum)The http://sammaher.com/jboss URL doesn't work for me.
At the moment I can't build the JBoss 3.0 example
template.
After solving the problem of using the wrong version of
XDoclet (fall back to 1.1.2, don't use 1.2b2), I now
get compile errors regarding Test*Entity and
SequenceGenerator. Then a big stack trace regarding
EnumeratedAttribute.
[ejbdoclet] javadoc: In doclet class xdoclet.DocletTask$DocletMain, method start has thrown an exception ja
va.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException
[ejbdoclet] java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/tools/ant/types/EnumeratedAttribute
Would be nice to have more accurate documentation, or
an example that actually works out of the box. -
