Redeployment is decoupled from the services. During redeployment, the

app is in an undetermined state and active transactions will generally fail

ungracefully. Only if you shutdown the web container is there an attempt

to wait for active requests. The ejb container has no such notion.

This is being addressed in JBoss 5.
