shandor Dec 24, 2007 6:46 AM (in response to sergeysmirnov)HI
1) A nicer Data Table object would be nice. The RichFaces tables are a bit
clunky I think. Please look here for an example, which is actually a super
set of some of the RF capabilities ( Sortable, Scrollable etc. All in one object):
2) It would be nice to specify a date range ( or omit few dates ) from a rich:calendar so all dates are grayed out apart from the range specified.
In this way I can restrict the user date selection. -

97. advanced tutorial --> Yes!!
balteo Dec 28, 2007 5:59 AM (in response to sergeysmirnov)Hello,
I saw on the wiki that someone had asked for an advanced tutorial about a4j. I back that idea. RichFaces is an excellent library that makes ajax very easy and it deserves an advanced cookbook or tutorial.

99. Re: RichFaces in the short-term future. What is your vision?
marx3 Jan 3, 2008 5:39 AM (in response to sergeysmirnov)my only vision is to get rid of all critical bugs. There is no RF library which can be used in production environment. Every version has important bugs, and I see next incarnation (3.2) will implement many new features and will bring many many new bugs without fixing olders :(.

gerch Jan 10, 2008 10:03 AM (in response to sergeysmirnov)Is there a possibility to dynamically load JSF pages into certain elements of a page with AJAX.
Like the ADF Faces region control ...
I think this feature would be very nice cause your whole page would not need any realoads anymore...
Thank you -

dpegram Jan 16, 2008 3:44 PM (in response to sergeysmirnov)I'd like to see better support/documentation for use within portal/portlet environment including:
- Necessary web.xml settings
- Necessary faces-config.xml settings
- Necessary portlet.xml <portlet-class> setting
- Required libraries (known working versions)
- Known working AS versions
Aligning these seems to trip up many folk (myself included).
Thank you! -
103. Re: RichFaces in the short-term future. What is your vision?
robertocarlos1 Jan 16, 2008 9:35 PM (in response to sergeysmirnov)I see some part of the comments, and i dont see nothing about the validations.
There are some additional wish list.
- I think that some components for client side validation would be nice, validations like required fields, Numeric inputs, date inputs, i think that can be done in the client side.
- Some way to avoid that some actions raises the validations would be nice. I saw in some post that regions can be a way to avoid that some actions raises the validations, but what about if you have something like Save and Cancel button, how you can put one of them out of regions so it can axecute the action without raise the validations.
- Display validation messages for components like a tooltip over the input. initialy mark the inputs when a validation message is presented for it and when you put over the field show a tooltip with the message, with this you can avoid the use of space in the page to display the validation messages for every input.
- Ajax Upload component is a very popular requirement
Guys you are doing a really great job. Thanks a lot for this great work!!! -
