or
ksession.getWorkItemManager().registerWorkItemHandler("Human Task", new CommandBasedWSHumanTaskHandler( ksession ));
You should use CommandBasedWSHumanTaskHandler if you want to persist HT activities.

ksession.getWorkItemManager().registerWorkItemHandler("Human Task", new CommandBasedWSHumanTaskHandler( ksession ));
If you are persisting your ksessions, not your Human Task Activities.
Usually you will persist the HT activities if you are using a Mina Server or the hornetQ Server.
