Jboss 6.0.0 final cache so big

Hello all, when deploying and starting jboss 6 server.. three folders are created in jboss/server/default directory.

they are log, tmp and work.. the tmp folder is being sooooo large..

i want it to take less memory? it is very strange.any way to solve this issue?

it creates

server/default/tmp/vfs/automount18f3c93ff3bd1a18

that folder is fucking huge.and its all libraries jars, everytime i restart jboss.. it will create of it.
i have 2 - 3 gb cache in tmp..

This is how our VFS handles zip/jar files.
I know we had some issues with the tmp/ cleanup.
Can you try the latest AS6 trunk if this is still there?

Is it related to this https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBAS-8786? I just haven't found the time to apply that patch and test it before commiting it.

yes its related. my libs in .war file ( WEB-INF/lib directory) are being seen as folders in tmp/vfs/automountXXXXX folder, and its taking huge huge amount of space.

How huge?

It cannot be much bigger then your original lib,
hence the occupied space is only 2*N, where N is your app's size.

whereas my application .war is 28 mb. its all .jars folders.. if u open them there is metainf and stuff... at some there is the .jar files themselves.

untitled.jpg is the folder created . ( ./jboss-6.0.0.Final\server\default\tmp\vfs\automount18f3c93ff3bd1a18 160 mb)
untitled1.jpg is one of the eamples inside the jar folders created

untitled2.jpg is my application .war web-inf/lib libraries. ( its 28 mb)

Ah, just 160MB, I thought you meant huge. ;-)

This also includes all JBossAS libs from common/lib/,
as we need to mount those too to VFS in order to be able to load classes from it.

My "..\jboss-6.0.0.Final\server\default\tmp\vfs\" entire size exceeds 41GB. Is there any way of cleaning this via a JBoss configuration or so ??? Please help, because it sucks my hard disk space and I'm only having around 633MB of hard disk space left in my disk. Is there a way of cleaning it ????

This is fixed in latest AS6 trunk and is available in the latest nightly builds http://community.jboss.org/thread/161386. Please give it a try and see if it fixes the issue for you all.
