I second this question.

We have an application started in jBPM 3.2.  We would like to hear about differences to more recent versions of jBPM and migration considerations.

We have a number of GPD xml files defining the workflow graphics.  We learned to parse these files to display the graph ourselvs using JGraph.  We would be interested in hearing from any others needing the same capability who have done it with more recent versions of jBPM.

The changes from 3.x to 5.x are a lot. Now the project support BPMN2 models that are standard, so if you create a graph based on JPDL(or xml files) you need to update the parsers to XML format. If you are willing to do that, please let us know to see the results.

About migration there are some efforts being done, but at this point I think that the best option is to re model your business processes. That will allow you to understand the new languange semantics.

It sounds like we will need to do our homework and plan time to learn the new version.  For a little longer we will have to make do with version 3.  Please feel free to suggest the best resources to study to gain working knowledge of version 5 or any tips.  We found learning version 3 quite challenging.
