ExtendedDataTable lose focus on filter field while typing

env:
- richfaces 3.3.0
- jsf ri 1.2_07
- tomcat 6.0.18
- jdk 6u13

Hi all,
we use heavily ExtendedDataTable and there is this behaviour we are not able to manage as we would: the filterEvent cause the focus lose from the input text field.
I saw it works correctly (mantaining focus) with table filtering on demo sites, just doesn't work for extended datatable. I could don't user the filtering method of table but in that case i should use my custom filter and i would avoid if it is possible. Any suggestion to use in a better wat the extendedDataTable filtering?

you using filter by or your some custom filter? show the code please.

the issue for filterBy usage created. https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/RF-6642

if you using external filtering you should manage cursor position yourself.

sorry, here is my code, i simply set the parameter in the column tag (not an external filtering)
The problem is the unfocus of field (not the rest of cursor position )
