Problem when running 2 servers in the same network

Hello,

I want simply run 2 servers in the same network, a production and a test server. The servers are NOT in a cluster and are running on different machines.

But both servers log this warning:

Where can i configure the "node id"?

And why I need 2 different node ids, for servers running on different machines.

Exactly the same issue here (with 6.0.0.M3), 4 devs using jboss on their workstation on the same LAN, the message is flooding the log file... any idea ?

note that reinstalling jboss suppress the messages, as we didn't tune anything in the config we're supposing it's something wrong in temporary data after sometime.this reminds me https://jira.jboss.org/browse/HORNETQ-291 except we're not in cluster...

The unique IDs issue is probably because you copied the data when you copied the servers.

HornetQ will auto-generate the serverID on the bindings journal. If you copy the journal, you may have the same id duplicate over the nodes.

Regarding the clustering config... I believe there was an issue on the distribution. I believe the default config also had clustering configs when it should be a standalone.

Hi,

Each dev was starting from a fresh install of JBoss (tar xzvf), and we didn't had the message before a couple of weeks (except the single one, each time a server is starting).
I don't really know what happened, I don't see how the unique ID can change after its first initialisation.

If it can help, we usually start jboss from eclispe plugin or an ant task (but as soon as we encountered this issue, it had the same behaviour starting it from a term) and mostly with the default config.

The Problem is not solved.

I haven't copied the data when installing the servers.
I used the package which i have downloaded on the jboss download page here.

The UID is created from a time stamp, its highly unlikely that 2 were created the same. Ive just ran 2 servers and it worked fine.
