peterj Feb 4, 2010 11:57 AM (in response to tridib197779)Have you read the documentation? It is very good.
Also, what do you mean by "configure"? That word covers a variety of topics (database, layout, security, themes, etc.). Are there any speciifc configuration tiopics you have in mind?

5. Re: How to configure the default portal page in jboss portal server
peterj Feb 8, 2010 12:04 PM (in response to tridib197779)Could you be a little more speciifc? JBoss in Action contains 10 pages on defining a custom portal, and that is after 40-some pages describing various topics that you need to know to do a portal. There is no way I can summarize that here (and if I tried it would contain less information that what is in the slides). I recommend looking over the custom portal section in JBoss in Action and looking at the source code provided with the book. If after doing that you have specific questions about a particular customization topic, I will be happy to answer it.

tridib197779 Feb 18, 2010 3:52 AM (in response to tridib197779)Hi Peter,
Can u suggest me how to do the portlet state management in jboss.
My own custom portlet is occupying small sapce in the portal page..
while submiting the request to the portlet, the response page page is coming in full window i.e in maxmized window.
I want the response portlet should come in the previous portelt space only not in maximized window..
Please help me

10. Re: How to configure the default portal page in jboss portal server
peterj Feb 18, 2010 11:14 AM (in response to tridib197779)Let me see if I understand this correctly. When you forst navigate to the page that contains your porlet, the portlet is in "normal" display mode (it occupies the page along with several other portlets). But after you submit some data to your portlet, when the page refreshes the portlet is maximized (it appears on the page by itself an occupies the entire page). Is this correct? If so then the only way I can think of for this to happen is if the portlet code indicated that the portlat was to be maximized.
By the way, this is the wrong forum - this is for the Portal QA Team's usage. Perhaps some forum administrator would be kind enough to move this post to the JBoss Portal forum.

12. Re: How to configure the default portal page in jboss portal server
peterj Feb 23, 2010 1:03 PM (in response to tridib197779)There is a user profile page that contains a lot of information about the user. I would add the extra data there. You will have to find this page in the Portal source code and extend that. The Portal uses Hibernate for database access so finding the persistent object that holds this data should be all that is needed as far as the database is concerned. -

tridib197779 Feb 23, 2010 11:59 PM (in response to peterj)Hi Peter,
Thanks for your reply.
Can you be more specific in this point like which are all the files are responsible for the user registration module.
One more suggestion I want to get from you that which one is the better option, creating a user registration portlet from the scratch or extending the
existing user registration module.
Thanks

No I cannot, I do not have the time to do this research for you.
"which one is the better option, creating a user registration portlet from the scratch or extending the existing user registration module"
I would start with modifying the existing one, and only if that proves too cumbersome would I create a enw one.
