That still doesn't tell much details. Anyway, take a thread dump http://community.jboss.org/wiki/ThreadDump and see what those threads are doing.

peterj Feb 4, 2010 11:24 AM (in response to jaikiran)You should take a thread dump when you have only the 150 threads, and then again when you have the increased number of threads and then compare the two to determine what kinds of threads increased. Most of the thread names have prefixes that identify their use; for example the http threads start with something like "http-0.0.0.0-8080-Processor".
If you are seeing an increase in http threads, you can control that with an <Executor> entry in the server.xml file. See this for details:
