maxandersen Feb 1, 2010 7:41 AM (in response to fraovi)I'm (almost) a complete rpm newbee so you have to be a bit more specific about what you are asking for ?
Are you suggesting we change something in the xulrunner bundle to make it possible to create rpm's ?
And btw. if you are doing this, any interest in contributing the work back so we could create an rpm version of JBoss Tools ?

fraovi Feb 1, 2010 8:03 AM (in response to maxandersen)I suppose it is sufficient to change the folder's name.
I'm also in doubt about the necessity of the folder "org.mozilla.xulrunner.carbon.macosx_1.8.1.3-20070904" that is relative to Mac OS, considering that the boundle I downloaded is for linux enviroment.

dgolovin Feb 1, 2010 3:08 PM (in response to fraovi)For x86_64 it could be easy to fix, because this folder is empty. But I'm not sure about other platforms they all have content in plug-in folder. It could be simple trick with moziila configuration, like changing default path to plug-ins, but I'm not sure.
So for x86_64 you need to alter archive and remove plug-in folder from xulrunner jar for x86_64.

dgolovin Feb 1, 2010 3:14 PM (in response to fraovi)I think that problem is somewhere in script/tool/whatever you using to convert JBossTools-ALL-linux-gtk-x86_64-3.0.3.v200910211631N-H194-GA.zip. Looks like it just considers you have plug-ins in any folder which name is 'plugin' I'm not sure it even expects Eclipse plug-in

dgolovin Feb 1, 2010 3:16 PM (in response to mareshkau)I guess to be able to controll installation using rpm. Which means you can install, unisntall, reinastll JBossTools and see it in list of installed software. -

dgolovin Feb 1, 2010 6:33 PM (in response to maxandersen)There is a Eclipse project called "Linux Tools Project". It has "RPM Stubby" sub-bproject http://www.eclipse.org/linuxtools/projectPages/rpmstubby. I'm not sure it is exactly what is used here. I just was curious and googled it.

maxandersen Feb 2, 2010 4:12 AM (in response to fraovi)yes, that folder doesn't make sense for Linux ALL.
Please report issues that prevents you from doing rpm builds in Jira - then we'll fix'em.
I'm still very interested in what you are trying to do with rpm

fraovi Feb 4, 2010 2:20 AM (in response to maxandersen)I reported issue on Jira. This il the link https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBIDE-5792.
In Jira I described the .spec file that doesn't work.
I was interested in creating an rpm to install Eclipse and some useful plugins on linux.
